NOVA’s dam is a palomino, ½ Arab and her sire is a black, homozygous, purebred Arabian. DESERT SUNSHINE’s sire was a Saddlebred and NOVA has inherited the classic Arab looks with the supreme athletic abilities of the Saddlebred.
As a yearling, NOVA’s hair coat was dark dapples with black hair tips. She also had a dorsal stripe. Her black mane, tail and forelock were frosted. In mid-summer, she again changed colors and she turned a warm honey buckskin. She lost the dorsal stripe and her “frosting” is disappearing as accents to her mane and tail.
This highly intelligent filly learns quickly and takes everything in stride. The quickest way to ask her to learn something new is to have her watch another horse so she understands what is being asked of her. NOVA is a pure joy to be with and she warms the heart of everyone who meets her.
NOVA will start her ground training next year for cart driving. Her fluid movements is poetry in motion.
